Workin' hard or hardly workin', eh Mum?

PRODUCT REVIEW!

Mum saw a toy she thought Ava would like at Wal-Mart made by Smart Paw. She was right, Ava loved it! Mum also picked up some grow-your-own catnip from SmartyKat. Here's our review.

Smart Paw Toy (picture on the right)

Mum: I knew the moment I saw the toy, Ava would like it. She likes to hold toys close to her and kick her feet against them, but we didn't currently have any toys big enough for her to do that with. This toy fits the bill! It doesn't have cat nip in it, which I like because cat nip dries out quickly. It does, however, have something inside it (maybe plastic) that makes it crinkle when she plays with it! The cloth is sturdy and the feathers at the end make the toy extra special. (I'm just starting to notice that Ava loves feathers!) All in all, I give this toy a thumbs up!

Ava: OMG OMG OMG LOVE THIS TOY. I usually hesitate with new toys. I like to observe them, smell them, circle around them a few times before I give them a chance. But I went straight for this toy! I LOVE LICKING THE FEATHERS AT THE END, TOO! LOVE IT! I think this might be my new favourite toy.

Missy: ...crinkly toys? I'm too old for that sh*t.

SmartyKat Sweet Greens (pictured on the left)

Mum: I've been wanting to try to grow our catnip for a while, so when I saw this, I thought it might be just the thing. And it is! It took about two days to start seeing visible sprouts and then another four days for it to grow up about 5 inches. I'm not sure the girls realise it's actually OKAY to eat THIS plant, yet, but I'm sure they'll like it once they figure that out.

Ava: Can I eat this? Is it cool if I eat this? How come I can eat this plant, but not the one on the piano? Mum, are you sure I can eat this?

Mum: Yes, I'm SURE you can eat this!

Missy: ...catnip? Hmmm...I'm skeptical.

PRODUCT REVIEW!

While Mum was in New Mexico, she bought the girls a couple toys made by a brand called SmartyKat. So, here's what we thought of the new toys:

Loco!Laser (pictured in front)

Mum: I love this toy! It's easy to use and hilarious to watch kitties scramble this way and that trying to get the laser beam. I like that it comes in various metallic colors (ours is purple) and that it's shaped like a mouse so there's no denying that it's a kitty toy! I also liked how convenient it was to use. I opened the package, pulled out a little tab and it was ready to go. But my favourite part about this brand of cat toys is that I can feel good buying them not only because I know my girls will like them, but because they are eco-friendly, made from recycled materials and certified organic!

Ava: I LOVE this toy for about three minutes. I run around and around where ever it goes, but then when I realise that I can never, ever catch it or touch it, I lose interest. But other, stupider cats might like it...

Missy: ...laser beams? I'm too old for that sh*t.

RunawayRascal (pictured in back)

Mum: Oh my gosh, this toy is excellent for the lazy owner (moi) who doesn't want to run around the house dragging a toy mouse attached to a piece of string forever. It's very easy to use, but does require two AA batteries. The remote control runs the fluffy/soft mouse toy on wheels across carpet, linoleum and hardwood floors going in both a straight direction and a backwards circle making it fun for kitties to pounce!

Ava: This toy freaked me out at first. I didn't really know what to think of it, but once I saw Mum start to play with it, I realised it's sorta like a REAL mouse! I like it now! But it's kinda slow sometimes...I wish it would zip around faster.

Missy: ...mousey toys? I'm too old for that sh*t.

Missy used to be little Ms. Tons o' Fun, as you can see in this picture. Ava has always been a little cray cray, too! But these two girls love each other. Big sister and lil' sister. Mum took these pictures during her college days when they lived in an apartment in Denver. So many things happened in those years for the girls! Originally, Mum and Missy lived together, but in 2007, Ava joined the family! The girls have been inseparable ever since.

Our Christmas Presents!

The Waterfall.
This was Mum's first Christmas back with the girls in three years, so she spoiled them! Missy got a waterfall since she likes to drink from the faucet so much. She's loves the waterfall and hasn't jumped in the tub since!

Ava got this toy from her Auntie. At first she didn't know what to make of it, but now she likes to bat at the colorful streamers and chew on the feathers. Silly kitty!
